THE BRIEF

Creating a Kitchen That Felt Part of the Home

The aim was to create a kitchen that respected the character of the property while introducing a more practical, considered layout for modern family life.

The exposed beams, warm timber flooring and traditional architecture called for a scheme with depth and softness rather than anything too contemporary. Zoran therefore developed a palette built around the OS Rainey painted beaded shaker range in Olive and Mussel, paired with crisp Alaska White quartz and antique brushed brass detailing.

The design needed to feel as though it had always belonged here — characterful, practical and completely connected to the architecture.

Every successful kitchen starts with understanding how the space needs to work, how the home feels and how the people living there want to use it.

For this project, Zoran carefully balanced the character of the existing property with the practical requirements of a contemporary family kitchen. Rather than competing with the exposed timber beams and traditional architecture, the new design was developed to complement them.

The combination of Olive and Mussel painted cabinetry introduces warmth and depth, while Alaska White quartz worktops provide a lighter contrast. Antique brushed brass handles, timber flooring and natural textures then bring the entire scheme together.

01
Understand the Space

Working with the architecture rather than forcing a design into it.

02
Balance Form & Function

Creating a kitchen that feels beautiful while remaining practical for everyday life.

03
Consider Every Detail

From cabinetry colours and worktops to hardware, lighting and storage.

Good kitchen design is about much more than choosing cabinetry. It is about creating a space that feels completely right for the home and the people who live there.
